How Meditation Relates to Calmness?
So you are stressed out due to work load, relationship management or any other thing that may be a hindrance in your desire to live a stress free life. Believe it or not, we all suffer from constant thoughts, continuous struggle with our inner self and no wonder it sometimes becomes a dream to live a calm stress free life. That's where the meditation techniques come into play. Meditation can indeed help us make our mind calm and peaceful. If we really want to be free from worries and mental discomfort so as to experience true happiness, we have to get our mind into a state of peacefulness. If our mind is not peaceful,it becomes very difficult to be happy. Even people who are living in the very best of their conditions will eventually agree that nothing is as good as the 'peace of mind'. Even people with all the materialist achievements of the world find it difficult to be happy and satisfied. Thus people from all background seek training in meditation so as to make their mind gradually more and more peaceful, and to experience a purer and purer form of happiness. If we continue with this training, eventually we will be able to stay happy all the time, even in the most difficult circumstances.
The biggest problems we all find, and even those successful in life like corporate entrepreneurs , is the difficulty to control our mind. Most people will agree that at times their mind behaves like a balloon in the wind and the external circumstances act something like the flow of the wind which guide all the thoughts. We are even distracted by trivial matters. Our mind has got uncanny ability to almost immediately reflect and react to the circumstances : bad or good. It often happens that if we get what we want, any worldly desire we might have such as a new possession or a new partner, happiness comes to us and we we feel excited. However, we forget the fact that we cannot have everything we want, and we will inevitably be separated from the friends and possessions we currently enjoy, we realize later on that being desirous or excited about something that is not guaranteed to last long can have bad effects on us like it may cause us pain. When we do not get what we want, or if we lose something that we like, we may become despondent, irritated or disappointed. This also leaves us in doldrums and dilemmas and with a lot of fear of future and uncontrolled thoughts. That is why we need training in meditation so that we are able to create an inner space and clarity. The goal is to control our mind and make it peaceful and calm.
Being involved in the external situation results in mood fluctuations and sometimes we lead ourselves in embarrassing situations. If we create an inner space and clarity that enables us to control our mind regardless of what is happening in the outer space (space outer to our mind). As we develop mental equilibrium, we begin to have a balanced mind that is happy all the time. An unbalanced mind oscillates between the extremes of excitement and despondency depending on the external circumstances. That is why training in meditation systematically, eventually will help us to be able to eliminate from our mind, the causes of all our problems and suffering. When this is done we will come to experience a permanent inner peace.
Living stress free with a calm and peaceful mind doesn't have to be a dream anymore. Learn meditation and meditation techniques and see how it can help you live a stress free life.
